The 5th Emerald Isle Classic

12th - 17th May 2007

The 5th Emerald Isle Classic started on the 13th May.

The organising team have put together a unique combination of roads, regularities and test section. How many events do you get to do where you motor competitively along the front drive, rush past the front door and squeeze out through the barn, all while the owner sits in his deck chair, having a drink and awarding points for style... and keeping a check sheet for those who stray onto the grass!

In addition to the new navigation sections our innovations this year include what we think is another CRA classic rally first... a test around a stock car circuit! No contact please. There is also a rally cross track but we’ve done that before in Norway.

Our finish in the lovely small County Meath town of Trim should mean that we’ll have a traffic jam free week from start to finish. The Trim finish has the added bonus of being just a few minutes walk from a wealth of local bars and once the prize giving is complete many competitors will likely be found enjoying the local craic.

The entry list is truly international with competitors from Australia, USA, France, Holland, England, Scotland, Kernow, Wales.... there is even a couple from Ireland!

Those that are not with us in Ireland can follow our regular reports here on our news and results pages.
